BIO
Rob Reischak is a Los Angeles-based session/touring guitarist, composer, and educator whose career bridges continents, genres, and stages of every size. Born and raised in Porto Alegre, Brazil, Rob first picked up the guitar at age 14 when he joined his middle school's music program. That same year, he got his first electric guitar — a Strat copy made in Brazil — and his passion for the instrument became a lifelong pursuit. He immersed himself in the sounds of his favorite bands, studied with talented teachers, and began playing local clubs while teaching young players in his home country.
In 2014, Rob made the defining decision to move to Los Angeles and enroll at Hollywood's acclaimed Musicians Institute. He graduated with honors and received the Outstanding Player of 2015 Award, setting the foundation for what would become a fast-moving career. The recognition was fitting: Rob quickly found himself performing on other artists' records and live shows, earning a reputation for creative riffs and solos, outstanding tone, and the rare ability to move effortlessly from one genre to another — rock, jazz, blues, pop, funk, folk, and country all within reach.
In 2016, Rob joined Vaud & The Villains, a celebrated 19-piece New Orleans-themed orchestra and cabaret ensemble. The group toured across the United States and performed at some of the country's most prestigious venues and festivals — including the Hollywood Bowl, the Troubadour, the Ford Amphitheatre, the Telluride Jazz Festival, the San Jose Jazz Festival, the LEAF Festival, and the Cannes International Film Festival. Rob has remained a core member of the ensemble ever since. In 2017, Musicians Institute invited Rob back — this time as a faculty member, a role that reflects both his artistry and his gift for connecting with students. His teaching career has grown steadily alongside his performing work, and in 2026 he will launch The Great Guitar Explorers, an online guitar school built around a personalized teaching method designed specifically for adult guitarists. Rob's live credentials speak to the range of his career. In 2018, he was part of guitar legend Steve Vai's team for the Big Mamma Jama Jam-a-thon — a 52-hour nonstop jam at Hollywood's Live House. In 2019, he performed with 5-time Grammy-nominated Mexican pop star Cristian Castro at the LA Pride Festival, headlining alongside Meghan Trainor, and later joined Billboard Latin Music Award winner and Latin Grammy nominee Natalia Jiménez at The Forum — sharing the bill with Jesse & Joy, Juanes, Pitbull, Ricardo Montaner, and Enrique Iglesias. Rob has continued touring and performing with Jiménez through 2022 and 2023, including a short tour, shows in Texas, and radio performances in Los Angeles.
His recent years have been marked by a steady string of diverse engagements. In 2023, Rob joined the house band for the critically acclaimed musical The Lonely Few at the Geffen Playhouse, a production praised by Broadway World for its music direction and exceptional musicianship. That same year he recorded at the world-famous Sunset Sound studio. In 2024, he became a recurring presence at the Viper Room in West Hollywood and joined the house band for the musical Carrie at Loyola Marymount University. In 2025, he performed at a sold-out show at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills and began a working relationship with Bad Cat Amplifiers, becoming a user of their flagship Hot Cat amplifier.
A testament to the trust artists place in Rob is the company his recordings keep. Songs he has played guitar on for singer Nadia Lanfranconi were mixed by 5-time Grammy-winning engineer Chris Lord-Alge. His work with producer and artist Eric Lee was mixed by 6-time Grammy winner Vance Powell. And his ongoing collaborations with artist Teddy Lance — whom Rob is now producing — have been mixed by 8-time Grammy-winning engineer Elliot Scheiner.
In 2026, Rob is entering one of the most exciting chapters of his career. He is currently producing Teddy Lance's next single, co-writing and producing more than ever, and putting the finishing touches on his long-awaited debut solo album — with a plan to release singles ahead of the full-length record. He is also launching The Great Guitar Explorers, his online guitar school, in the second half of the year. Whether on stage, in the studio, or in the classroom, Rob Reischak remains one of Los Angeles' most dedicated and versatile guitar voices.
